A giant retinal tear (GRT) is a full-thickness retinal break, which extends circumferentially for more than or equal to 3 clock hours (≥90°) in the presence of a posteriorly detached vitreous. It requires special strategies to successfully settle them. In this lecture, we will discuss detailed presentations and the management of giant retinal tears in simple and complex situations.
