Ocular surface disease is highly prevalent among patients presenting for cataract surgery and, when unrecognised, can significantly compromise biometric accuracy and postoperative visual outcomes. Identification and management of conditions such as dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction prior to finalising IOL power calculations is therefore an essential component of modern cataract surgical planning.
